About Me


My name is Morgan, and I grew up in the great small town of Hammondsport, New York. I moved to Central Texas in 2019 shortly after I graduated with my bachelor's in science from the State University of New York at Fredonia. I pursued my master's degree at Texas State University in Special Education and became a certified teacher. I am first and foremost a teacher- but photography has become my "side hustle"!


I love watching documentaries and spending time with my boyfriend, Nathan. We spend a good chunk of our time watching anything Star Wars or Marvel-related, and we laugh a lot! I am so lucky that he has been supportive of my business.


Some of you may be wondering what "simple jest" even means. The thing is... I don't know! When my grandfather passed away in 2018, we discovered some poetry that he wrote (on napkins, by the way) in which he signed Simple Jest instead of his name. It stuck with me, and ultimately I wanted to name my brand and business in honor of him.


I sure hope I have done him proud!
